TOO MANY ISSUES...

1.booked room for 5 people, though we were only 3.intention was for all of us to have an own bed to have a good rest- and the price was the same as for a room for 3 people! so the owner showed us the rooms and then later changed her mind and told us we cannot have the 2 rooms+that we have to share beds in one room - or to pay extra 25 cuc per night! not fair making up new prices after having booked here.anyway we didnt want any trouble + switched to 1 room. 2.no warm water:only the last day, when we came home wet+freezing from the mountains, and asked if there is hot water, they switched it on.then it was switched off again.thats not very respectful to guests.anyway,we accepted it. 3.the watermelon was rotten + we realized it too late as that melon was also mixed in a fruit juice. i got a painful stomach inflammation + had to go to the clinic in trinidad.they gave me antibiotics etc. + i was sick for half of our holiday.its a pity this all happened..but all together it left a bitter memory

NICE PLACE

We stayed here three nights and there was everything you’d expect from a casa. teresa runs the hostal very much as a business, there is always someone on hand cleaning or cooking. you have to walk through the house to get to the rooms, which sometimes feels a little awkward, although everyone was friendly. our room was on the ground floor, which meant it was sometimes noisy in the morning when other guests were having breakfast or staff were sitting on the chairs outside, especially because there was no glass on the windows (only shutters). the shower wasn’t great but we didn’t come across many on the trip that were! the roof terrace is a definitely a highlight, lovely views and relaxing. you need a good head of heights to get up and down there though. there were two breakfast options - small or big. nothing special but still set you up for the day.

NICE CASA

Teresa had organized a peddling taxi to pick us up, which was very nice. her casa was probably the largest we'd been to with many rooms (almost like a motel) and they had a very large garden. breakfasts were yummy and i hear the lobster dinner was absolutely amazing. even without the lobster there was so much food, the rice and black bean dish was spectacular! our room had aircon and a fridge too which was handy (no tv if you wanted to know!). nicely located within walking distance of everything, no need to cab it once you're there. teresa is happy to call you taxis down to the the ancon beaches, which are beautiful and peaceful (perhaps it was the time of year we went). we found them very accommodating during our stay.
